NATURAL SCIENCE DOCUMENTARY

Good morning everyone:

 The documentary you are going to see focusses on matter and energy.It shows the changes of state of water and how man-made changes to the climate,in the form of global warming,can change the natural.

The Earth is made up of water and land .Did you Know that about 70% of the Earth´s surface is water? The sun is like a ball of fire.We receive heat and light from the sun.We need the sun´s heat to live. However ,too much heat energy can have a negative effect.Carbon dioxide in the atmosphere traps the sun´s heat.We produce carbon dioxide by burning coal,oil and gas to make electricity.The more we burn these gases,the more carbon dioxide we produce.More carbon dioxide means more heat trapped in the atmosphere.this is called global warming-the gradual increase of the Earth´s temperture.You know that matter has three states.It can be solid,liquid or gas.Ice cubes are solid.If we heat them, they melt and change to a liquid.Icebergs are like giant ice cubes.Because of global warming(the gradual increase of the Earth´s temperature), they are melting.The problem is that some animals need the iceberg.The oceans are going to contain more and more water as the iceberg continue to melt.If they contain to much water there will be floods. Water can also change state through evaporation.If we heat water,it changes into water vapour.If lakes and rivers receive to much heat from the sun, the water will evaporate. If they disappear, the acuatic animals that live in them will desappear ,too.
